“So above, so below.” Four simple words to describe the connectedness of life. Our physical forms reflect not just the blood and tissue, but thoughts and emotions – inner life. Everything is connected. And it is reflected in our form.

Accupressure, based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, applied to the channels of energy that flow through the body, it stimulates the body to balance itself physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Acupressure is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine just like acupuncture. Animals are highly responsive to acupressure because they are very in tune with their bodies. We humans, have so much to learn on how they are with life.

When pressure is applied to the channels of energy that flow through the body, it stimulates the body to balance itself physically, mentally, and emotionally. Stimulation of specific points stimulates neurotransmitters, serotonin, and endorphins, natural pain relief chemicals to be released.

All of life has been given the gift of proactively healing itself. The secret is to be proactive. I loved to contemplate the history that Chinese doctors were paid when their patients where healthy.

And life does happen. Halley, my German Shepherd in 2007, was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. This is what started me on this journey of acupressure. I wanted to help her. Thirteen years later, I am helping Feather, my German Shepherd (GSD), manage her osteoarthritis and Whisper, my other GSD, manage his skin. Acupressure is such a gift. It has allowed me to participate in my dog’s health. Today I am stepping up and I hope to help you and your best friend.

I offer acupressure sessions for animals. The initial consult is an hour long that helps me better understand your goals and the current challenges. The time is spent in conversation, observation, and hands on assessment of your animal. Based on the total picture, specific acupoints are chosen and applied. The hope is that patterns of disharmony are brought into balance. Future sessions will be needed, and be approx. a half hour. The frequently depends on the assessment. The hope is to lengthen the time between sessions.  Contact us today to schedule an appointment or learn more.

Whether it is human resources, K9 Nose Work, or acupressure, I hope to empower you, the caregiver. At the end of the session, I will give you a few essential acupressure points to help you help your best friend between sessions.
